The talking Cave

‘When a Lion Got Alive’ is a popular moral story of a Sanskrit moral story text named ‘The Panchatantra’ composed by Vishnu Sharma.

It was a long time ago that Drona used to have four friends in the city. Of those four, three brahmins were skilled in many kinds of knowledge, while the fourth one had no knowledge, but was very intelligent. The fourth friend always used his intellect to find a way out of every problem, while the other friend, despite being intelligent, did not act wisely.

One day the four friends together thought that they should go abroad to earn money. By going there, you will get the benefit of education and also the way to earn money. Due to this thinking, all four went on a foreign trip. While traveling, a Brahmin friend said that only one of us does not have education. Such a friend does not get money because of his un-educatedness. We earn money because of our education. He can go back home.

They discussed this for a long time. then, the second friend agreed. The third friend argued that it would not be right to do so. all of us have been friends since childhood. He added that it would be wrong to take this decision now. Whatever we earn, will be divided into four parts. Everyone agreed on this matter. Then, all of them started moving forward to show the miracle of learning to the people.

During the journey, they were passing through a forest. They saw a dead lion in the forest. All of the scholar brahmins said that we will make this lion alive by the miracle of our learning. This will give us a lot of fame and fame. The three scholar Brahmin friends tried to revive him. The fourth wise friend but illiterate forbade them to do so. He said in his argument that if you guys make him alive, he will eat us all as soon as he is alive.

The fourth friend requests a lot. The three scholar friends did not agree. One scholar brahmin of them began to collect the lion’s bones. The other scholar tried to put his number. The third one tried to put life in his body. The fourth friend, who was illiterate but wise, was scared to see it. He said to them, “Okay, wait, you guys make up your mind, but let me climb the tree.”

After it, the fourth friend hurriedly climbed the tree. At the same time, other friends started trying to revive that lion. They used the strength of their siddhis and knowledge. Soon the lion got alive. As soon as the lion is alive, it kills the three scholar brahmins who were around of it. The fourth illiterate but wise friend, who was on the tree, is saved by his understanding.
